Bad Mechanics?
Golfers are prone to the same tendinitis/tendinosis
as tennis players, and in 90% of case strain the same
tendons. In Golf, poor muscle strength or bad body mechanics will transfer most of
the shock from the impact of the club to your wrists and
elbows. Despite the weight of a golf ball, the impact of the club on the ball
generates surprising force on the elbow and wrist joints.
A unnaturally tight grip
can also irritate the problem, exaggerating the shock of the golf swing.
The trauma created by the swing can inflame the tendons at the elbow
(tendintis) and in severe cases cause scarring. Go to an Apple a Day to
see how fitness can help your swing, or for more information on tennis or
golfer's elbow, visit the Body Chart.
