Patella Tendinitis/Tendinosis (Jumper's Knee) - Treatment
As with Achilles tendinitis/tendinosis, steroid injections are not usually given because of the risk of tendon rupture. Sonocur® therapy has often been effective in those with localized pain. Sonocur® therapy is often very effective in the treatment of patellar tendinitis/tendinosis. Maximal effectiveness (75-80%) is most likely to occur when the painful area is at a specific point over the affected site. Generalized, non-localized knee pain should not usually be treated with Sonocur® therapy.
